We recently received planning permission for this extensive refurbishment of an existing bungalow in Ovingdean. The proposed works include the addition of a lightweight timber clad first floor, doubling the available floor area, and internal alterations. This newly created first floor allowed us to relocate and improve the quality of the bedroom spaces, incorporating large picture windows with expansive views down to the sea. The existing ground floor footprint was then able to be adapted creating a flexible living space suited for modern living. As we take the project through the further RIBA work stages there will be a strong emphasis on sustainable material choices and low energy mechanical systems.
