We were very pleased to hear that the DREAM Centre received two awards in recent weeks; AV Magazine “Education Project” of the year and the Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement – Immersive Design for Special Needs Guests.
Deacon and Richardson Architects worked with a very talented team of AV specialists including 7th Sense, TEECOM and Northstar Engineering to deliver a series of complex and adaptable spaces that could immerse individuals into new and exciting spatial experiences.
Confined to the boundaries of an existing structure the project involved the co-ordination of moving partitions, sliding hoists, high level projectors, theatre lighting and mechanical services requirements. To further complicate the installation process a hidden trampoline was fitted in the stage! To aid the design process we developed a series of 3D models to communicate and co-ordinate the various complexities of the space.
We are thrilled to see the enjoyment that the space is giving to the young people at Chailey and are pleased to hear that it has the recognition of these awards.
